More than half of the tables at Viet Huong Vietnamese Restaurant were filled with customers despite it being between lunch and dinner. Plus, almost all of the customers were Asian. I took both of these facts as positive signs about the restaurant and I was not disappointed.
I originally intended to order Pho, but the clay pots were so intriguing that I had to try one. In an unfamiliar restaurant I would normally order chicken, but this time I was adventurous and decided to get the beef instead. Thankfully, the fairly thin slices of beef were tasty.
Although I liked the beef, my favorite part of the clay pot was the crispy rice on the bottom…yum! To be fair, I really like the vegetables too.
I liked Viet Huong so much that we went back a few days later so my husband could try it. This time the restaurant was full with more ethnically diverse crowd. However, I noticed that almost everyone was eating Pho.
On this visit, I decided to order Pho with meatballs after noticing its popularity and having read that it was good on both Urbanspoon and Yelp. I would order the Pho again…just not with meatballs. I just was not a fan of the meatballs.
I must admit that realistically I probably won’t order Pho the next time I go to Viet Huong. I will probably order a clay pot again. In fact, I liked it so much that I occasionally find myself wishing I lived closer so it would be an option for dinner.
